The Night Walkers

It started about a week ago. I was moving to a new house, it was a living hell! Searching through every little increment of the house, making sure I have ''everything'', trust me, it's not fun. Well I'm going off topic, while I was searching I found my good ol' NES! I remember that thing when it first came out. It was my savior of the 80's! I knew I couldn't dump that thing. Too bad the games were too beat up to play, but I kept them as a trophy of my childhood. So I shoved it in a box (Its own personal box of course!) and placed it in the passenger seat of my car.
A few hours later I was finally done packing! So, I decided to go to the flea market. I quickly ran to the Nintendo Store. I was like a kid in a candy store. Swiping off every game that peaked my interest. Then I came across one game. Its perky turquoise cartridge beckoned me to it. And no! It wasn't a 'Black cartridge with the label replaced with marker' type of thing. It was turquoise with a legit label. The company name made me raise an eye-brow though.
"Fluch Der Seele?" I asked.
The cashier was too busy being in 'La La Land' to answer, that made me burn in fury, but I didn't have time for yelling.
I looked at the fun label and studied the name, ''Cloud Kingdom and the Night King''. Seemed legit. A fun looking game probably for youths but who cares! I slipped my games on the counter and the cashier quickly scanned the games. When I got home I slipped into the living room. The first game I played was ''Cloud Kingdom and the Night King''. I popped in the cartridge and turned on the T.V. resting upon the floor.
The Fluch Der Seele logo came up. Sorry to state the obvious, but this was not an American game. Some catchy music came up and I could listen to it for hours non-stop! It was a mix between the original ''Sonic'' theme and the ''Legend of Zelda'' theme. I pressed play and what I saw disturbed me. To this very day I cannot even touch the game.
The game itself didn't have all those screams and yelps of agony, but that's what pierced my mind. I struggled to keep grip of my sanity as I opened my eyes and forced on. Do you know what I saw? A night setting, the graphics made my eyes pop.
Although, my buttons didn't work. ''Was this a cut-scene? ''I asked myself, pushing away the torture of screaming out of my head. I was sort of right, it was a recording. It was just a person sitting in a chair, in the middle of the wood, singing, a muffled song. As I sat the song got louder until I could here what he was singing.
"Fluch der seele, fluch der seele. Es wurde nicht sein, aber dein fehler ist ein narbe," he paused on swiveled his chair around.
His eyes glittered in the moon light as he began to repeat his song in English, "Curse the soul, curse the soul. It was not meant to be, but your mistake is a scar," he lulled in a melodic tone.
"But night must come," he closed.
It wasn't that it was bloody, but the song, the setting, the eeriness of the tape. Then the game turned off. I took the game and slid it into my car, grabbed my prized game system, my new games, and was off. I felt that that house was now cursed. I drove to the flea market and slid the game back onto the shelf. The cashier was still to dazed to notice and it only cost a dollar or two so it wasn't a big loss. But from that day, the song is stuck in my head. Replaying itself to a calm melody.
